Can anyone please advise me on what the best method is for making tiers out of an 11 x 15 cake? I have a cake slicer but I am concerned about lifting off the tiers (once sliced) without them falling apart. Please help! icon_redface.gif

are you talking about layering/torting the cake?

I use toothpicks around edges and use large long knife to slice while on turntable....then I have a large cookie sheet without a lip on the side and slide it between the layers and lift off top...then you need to torte, use buttercream dam, if using a filling and then push layer off cookie sheet onto cake...I like to put a little v on end before slicing so I know I have cake lined up correctly with top and bottom. Hope this helps.

Cake boards can also be used.

I use my Agbay and then a flat cookie sheet or cake board. Works really well!
