What is the BEST book out there for recipes for scratch cakes? Not just yellow or chocolate but really fun combinations that are different?
The Cake Bible by Rose Levy Bernbaum (or however you spell her last name)
I like Warren Brown's Cake Love.
I am a total baking cook book junkie
i like The Cake Bible and Cake Love, mentioned above, but i think my favorites are Baked: New Frontiers and Baked: Explorations. I also like the book: All Cakes Considered from a writer at NPR.
only one i have been disappointed with was Bake Wise. I heard some so-so reviews and got it from the library. Some good information, but i won't be buying it.
i also get a little thrown for a loop when i get UK books. THey are converted, but somehow the recipes just seem off to me. But the pictures sure are pretty!
Excellent. Just what I needed to know thanks guys!!
The Cake Bible is my cake bible!
Th Cake Bible, hands down
