How Too Apply Edible Wafer Papers Too Cakes

i just made some fairy cakes, and applied wafer paper too the icing.. but the papers curled up. I put the papers on strait after icing the cakes, should i have waited or icing too dry? or can you only apply these too certain icings? if so, what would be the best icing too apply them too?

more info on what you're trying to do, please. I make flowers out of wafer paper frequently and place them on cakes, but I want those edges to curl. In fact I purposefully curl them.

Make sure that you press the image down while applying. If you still have the problem of it lifting, your icing is probably not damp enough. Moisten your icing a bit more, making sure you dont get the top of the image wet.

You must coat the back of the wafer paper w/piping gel.
Once you have applied the gel, scrape off most of it. You just want a very light coating.
Then you need to move quickly to place the WP.
You only get ONE chance so be sure you know exactly where/how you want it.
Some people like to put a small border all around the WP to help hold the edges from curling up.
