Do you cover your RKT with chocolate and then fondant or do you just cover with modeling chocolate? Suggestions for my first time making them would be greatly appreciated!
I cover them with either ganache or royal icing and then cover them with fondant. The ganache and RI smooth out the bumps in the Rice Krispies so that you have an even surface to cover. I'm sure you could cover them in chocolate clay instead of fondant, but I think you need something softer underneath (that will eventually harden somewhat) to even things out first.
I've used buttercream! anything that works to adhere your covering, although the ganache or chocolate would smooth out the RKT. I really press and smooth my RKT beforehand. HTH!
