A good friend asked me to make her sisters baby shower cake. I'm having a difficult time deciding what size the tiers are in the photo, she sent. She wants the cake to look exactly like the cake in this photo. The cake also needs to feed 40 people.

I think it may be a 8 in. square and a 6 inch round? But I don't think that will be big enough for 40 people. Im not sure! icon_confused.gif If anyone could help I would so greatly appreciate it!

Here is the link to the photo.

Probably a 6 on an 8 like you say. Serves about 40 by my charts.

I'm a newbie at this but judging from the other items placed on the table, it looks to me more like a 10" and an 8", and they are tall also. I'd say at least 4"tall if not more. At least that's what it looks like to me.
But you could make them in any size that would feed 40, and they would still look as good icon_smile.gif

I'd agree 6 round and 8 square, and the standard height of 4"
The 8 square serves 32, and the 6 round serves 12.

Thank you everyone! I am going to go ahead and make a 6in round and a 8in square!
