Thinking of coating a cake with chocolate bc and then covering the whole cake with chocolate cake crumbs. I thought I'd seen this done before but the closest cake I found is this one from I am Baker:
which is coated in Oreo cookie crumbs.
Do you think the cake crumbs would work?

I have tried this and it works, but my Hershey Chocolate Cake crumbs were too moist, so I added some sugar and cocoa, and it worked. Just be warned- crumbs get everywhere!!
I was thinking that the cake for the coating would have to be a little dry so that it broke up easily to make fine crumbs.
I originally thought of just putting the crumbs around the outside but I may put them all over. Oh, I can't decide!
