I need to make antlers to place around a cake. maybe 10in long each, I have never used modelong chocolate would it before does it dry and hold up to the heat like fondant? Can it be molded like fondant? or should I just stick with a fondant gumpaste mix?

I personally would use gumpaste.

I just made a 3D deer head cake this weekend and used gumpaste. I originally made the antlers from fondant, but they were too heavy so I made them w/ gumpaste on a large gauge wire and it worked really well.
Here's a pic of the cake I made. Hope this helps!

Can you please tell me how you made your deer antler. I have a baby shower cake to do and she wants a cameo cake with antlers.

Thank You Cakelady3rd
