i was just wondering how everyone figures out what to charge for carved cakes? I have been asked to do a helmet from star wars, and I'm not sure how long it will take (as I've never done one) and so I'm not sure how much to charge.

I ask for 2X the normal cost per slice. For me, this seems to make up for the extra time & wasted cake.

At least! These tend to take about twice as long as I always thnk they will. I'll work on a wedding cake for three hours, then do the groom's cake and it takes me 5.

Good question!
While we're on the subject of pricing, how much extra do you charge for fondant work? It is so time intensive compared to bc.
