Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can help me. I'm looking for a recipe for a turtle cake. Scrath or box, doesn't really matter. I have been searching for a good recipe online and they all sound great, but I don't have a lot of time to experiment on different recipes so I was hoping someone could tell me their favorite(s). Thanks!

Here ya go - just do a search in the recipes section on this site - it's the first one that pops up. And, I think it was just added too.

My turtle cake is my most request flavor in my family! I just use my regular chocolate cake recipe (I use the WASC recipe and used Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge for the cake mix and sub coffee for the water).

Then for the filling I layer ganache (made with semi-sweet chocolate), toasted pecans and then dulce de leche between each layer of cake. I ice the cake with chocolate buttercream. Everyone RAVES about it!

Happy cake-that sounds amazing! Do you have to refrigerate it?

Nope, I leave it out for a few days... I figure ganache is OK at room temp and so is the dulce de leche because it's cooked.
