Can someone tell me what an Aussie chocolate mud cake is supposed to be like (texture, density, etc)? I made one last night but I don't think it's right. It turned out dense but crumbles. Not sure if that makes sense.

I'm making it for a one tier wedding cake for a couple from Australia and want to make sure I got it right! Thanks!!!

I have an Australian cake decorator friend who uses this type of cake all the time for her customers. Her advice to me was to add a basic box mix to the choc mud recipe to prevent the crumblyness, I did just that with the last one I made and in worked a treat!
Just make the choc mud as per recipe instructions, and make the box mix per instructions, and mix the two together before pouring into the cake pan. worked fine for me.

Mud cake texture is best when it's made a day or two before you need to use it.
