Hi everyone, I can get a Cuisinart 5.5 stand-mixer regularly priced $469 and tax for $299 and tax, would like to know if this is a better stand-mixer than the Kitchenaid or if you think this is a good deal before I go and buy it, am presently using hand-mixer and so want a stand-mixer!

I would definitely get the Cuisinart over the KA. KAs aren't what they used to be.

I second Leah's opinion on the Cuisinart. I have one and love it. BTW, do a quick search on Amazon for a better price with free shipping and no sales tax. Save a few $$

Thank you very much for the replies, definitely will go with the Cuisinart, I especially like the splash guard that is on it, saves me cleaning alot of mess.
