I am in the process of putting together a business proposal for a bakery in my area. My husband wants me to get it all mapped out with 1) what I will need 2) what I will be selling 3) how much profit I will be making (which means I have to know how much I am going to be charging). I would LOVE if you guys could start throwing ideas of things I might need so I can do a double check of what I have down. So far I cannot think of anything that I am leaving out, except profit margins and price lists.

What is the proposal for? Making cakes, onsite or your home......

My state has laws that do not allow it in the home, so I am looking at opening a store front.

Search "business plan".

Opening your own retail storefront is a pretty big leap. Have you considered renting an existing commercial kitchen first? This will let you start your business with minimal up-front investment.

You'll also want to survey the competitive landscape in your area to see who you will be competing with and where they are positioned in the market.
