I have a bride that has ordered a buttercream cake and she wants fondant swags all around the cake. What is the best way to attache these swags so that they will stay?

Attaching them with dabs of butter cream will work just fine. Having a crusting butter cream is best and make sure that the butter cream on the cake is not too soft or the fondant will weight it down and slide out of place.
