Does anyone know?? Please help!
Forget this.. It's not worth messing up my recipe for 79 cents..lol If anyone does know the answer, I'll still be interested for next time
substitute 1 tsp baking soda with 2 tsp of double-acting baking powder plus replace the acidic liquid ingredient in the recipe with a non-acidic liquid.
Thanks Mena, but How do you know this?? lol
I think this also depends on the recipe.
There is no way you could replace the chocolate in a recipe. Also too much BP and you get a soapy taste. Your best bet is to run to a store! I made a chocolate cupcake recipe last week. I'm chatting away while putting it together and totally missed that I put in baking powder instead of soda. The cupcakes never rose and had a hallow center that came from the bottom up. I stood there scratching my head wondering why my recipe didn't work and that is when I noticed the PB sitting on the counter.
I chalked it up to a learning experience and made another batch. They came out beautiful with the right ingredients.
