Hi there

I a making a three tier stacked cake. I have made several before but wondered when do you think is the best time to stack them?

Each cake with will be covered in marzipan on a cake card the same size before being covered in a final layer of sugarpaste/fondant.

Some people say it is best to leave the tiers to dry before dowelling and sticking them together with a dab of royal icing and others say it is best to do so imeediately.

Please any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. the tiers will be 12 incehs, 9 and then 6. Bottom tier is a very rich fruit cake and top two tiers madeira sponge.

I will be decoratinf egse of tiers with blooms once stacked to prevent any accidents eek!

I usually just stack them right after I cover them, I haven't had a problem with it.

You can try both methods out and see which one you prefer.
