Does anyone know how i make my chocolate glossy for my cake pops?
I add a couple of teaspoons of shortening to my chocolate. I makes the chocolate glossy and gives it a little crunch as well. If you want the gloss without the crunch, I think you could add butter instead of shortening, although this is something I've never tried.
vegetable oil works as well. it can also depend on what kind of chocolate you are using. candy melts dont always have that shine, but if you are using high quality chocolate then you need to temper it (i dont have the time to explain the whole tempering process, but you heat it up, cool it down, then bring it up to working temp- which depends on the type of chocolate you're using). when you temper it then you get a really nice shine on it without using oils
