I mixed the batter thoroughly, but the red velvet cake still came out streaky. Has any one else had this problem? I used a liquid red food coloring and the Joy of Baking red velvet recipe. Thanks for any help.
I have had this problem - my recipe says to add in the cocoa mixed with red food colouring last, and it ended up streaky. The next time I made it I put the cocoa/food colour mixture in while the butter and sugar were creaming and it worked perfectly.
