Do you prefer to use a quilting tool and protractor (like I see on Cake Boss), or do you use a diamond impression. Are these sold at Michael's or is there a better place to buy them?

what do you do when it doesn't come out evenly spaced as you get to the end? Do you just make your diamonds wider/narrower to make it work and make that be the back of your cake, or is there a way to help make that not happen?

Thanks!

I have a black diamond plastic tool to mark out the quilting lines on the side of my cakes and the trick is to start in the front then change sides - odd then even all the way around the cake till you get to the back where you can fudge the endings.

Could I use a serrated tracing wheel that is used in crafts? Would that be safe to use w/ food?
