Does anyone know how to make the letters and numbers like Pink Cake Box does on top of their cakes. I love those!
Without a pic, I dont know if your referring to a particuar cake or particular numbers.
I looked at their site, under celebration cakes and if you mean the "16" ( for example) on top of a few of the cakes, its actually quite easy.
The numbers are made freehand. Roll a piece of fondant ( prefereably 50/50 with gumpaste) and shape it into the number you want. The ends are rolled a little thinner so they can be 'curled' .
While they're still pliable, add a thin dowel, or something similiar - maybe even a toothpick) depending on size and weight, so when they're dry you can stand them on the cake.

I recently made one of these (my 'Twins first birthday cake'), exactly how Jess described - very easy but effective. I made it about a week in advance to ensure it was completely dry. It stood about 4 inches high and looked great.
