Sooo I'm just wondering, has anyone tried to put Jello (the Gelatin not the Pudding) into their icing?
I am making a raspberry cream cheese buttercream and find that it just isn't that flavourful. I've added a lot of raspberry jam. I thought maybe jello would help but I don't want to ruin what I already have!

I'm not so sure what the gelatin would do to the frosting...perhaps make it rubbery??? I've used packets of Kool-aid to a cake mix before to get a certain flavor like strawberry, but I've never tried it with the icing. It might not dissolve well and leave spots, but if its just for a filling, it might not matter.

yeah, I just tried it out. Made the filling very very gritty. Ugggghhh. I guess I should have used the crystal light instead!!

You could dilute it in whatever liquid you'd normally add to your frosting. That way it would dissolve first.

I have used strawberry unsweetened koolaid in my buttercream. Colors and flavors it all at once. Just let the icing set for 1 hour after mixing then stir again or you will get little dots of color.
