How is the effect on this cupcake created? I usually do the swirl with the large star tip, but this looks very elegant and I'd like to know how it's done.
Looks like tip 2D, fairly soft icing, firm pressure while piping. I've done it in the past and you're right, it looks quite elegant!
I use a 1M and swirl from outside to in pulling up like you would a soft serve icecream cone. Looks like they put a 2 tone fondant star on top
