Hi, I have a cake this week where the bride would like this color fondant ribbon around each tier. Can anyone tell me what combinations of colors they may use in what ration to get this color? Thanks so much! <a href="http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g375/troyb1/house/?action=view¤t=dress.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g375/troyb1/house/dress.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Any help super appreciated!
I assume you are referring to matching the color in the dress that is in that link? Americolor has a very nice purple color that could be helpful to get to the base color but to get that color exactly you will likely have to use a petal dust or combination of petal dusts on the cut ribbon and then apply it. I did a fondant ribbon on a wedding cake recently that had to be done in this way.
If you want a photo to show up in your post, here's how:
First upload the photo into an online photo site like Photobucket (getting a photobucket account is easy and FREE) then just copy the photo's image code (IMG Code) from photobucket and paste it directly into the text of your post. Then when you hit 'submit comment' the photo will display in the thread. Easy.
Photobucket is here: http://photobucket.com/
I'm pretty sure you can also use Flickr like this too - just look for the image code (IMG code) and copy and paste it.
Thanks coral I had copied like the html or something I guess, Thanks so much let me know what you think!
To me it looks like an eggplant color....
But again everyone can see it differently due to the monitor's resolution.
For eggplant I would try navy blue /royal blue & red
the butterflies in this pic look like the color you want

Those butterflies are the perfect color! What ratio of blue to red would you use? Thanks so much!
To be honest im not sure I started with 50/50 and then kept on adding until i got that color...these are the exact colors I mixed
Red & blue fondant, same thing with the BC but it darkened way to much (which is very normal)
