Butter Cream Or Royal

I asked this question the other day but I forgot to add that the cake will have a fondant drape down the front. The lady wants a teal border on an Ivory fondant cake. Would it be ok to do the border in royal? I'm just afraid of trying to attach the fondant drape which I have never done before and messing up a butter cream bead border. Any info on doing the fondant drape would be greatly appreciated.

I would think a royal border would be completely acceptable. Royal decorations are used everywhere else on cakes, from stringwork (borders) to flowers as well as various items being attached to the cake using royal.

Use the royal.
