When you are decorating satellite cakes on separate foil wrapped boards do you frost and cover in fondant on the already prepared boards? I have always decorated this way but I see where some of you frost and cover on a separate cardboard cake circle and then transfer to your foil boards. I was just wondering if I have been doing something wrong for the last eleven Always like to learn new methods if it makes things easier.

No you haven't been doing something wrong, I also frost and cover on the prepared boards. I think it's just personal preference.

I don't. It's just easier for me to transfer than to clean up the prepared base board.

I'm with mena. A damp paper towel cleans up the cake drum easily and quickly.
