Hey. So, the last topsy turvy cake, my third, really gave me a scare.

The top tier was so shaky and heavy on one side that it would not stay on the cake. I had the cut out and dowels on the bottom tier at an angle and still litterally had to hold the top tier on until we got a 1/2" dowel through the cake. The top was a 6" round and I tapered it down to a/b 4" at the bottom. My guess is that was too much variance based on how tall it was. I'm not sure. My first topsy turned out good, the second almost had this same issue and now this third was really unstable.
I'm getting worse! Any tips or suggestions?
