im making a firetruck cake for my nephew and its going to be covered in fondant. Ive done fondant covered cakes before but my house has never been as warm as it has been the past couple days and we are unable to put the ac's in until this weekend and the cake is due friday night. Im afraid if i leave it out overnight that the fondant might get too warm and start to melt or whatever. Is it okay to put it in the fridge?

I just finished a firetruck cake a couple of weeks ago... Same situation, very humid out and since it required hours of detail work, I would take it out and when it started to get soft, I put it back in the fridge, fondant and all. I didn't have any problems, and told the customer since the party was outside, sweating was inevitable. I know alot of cc folks would say fondant and fridges don't go together but it has worked for me. gl icon_smile.gif
