Hiya,

Very quick question... if you have no 'sugar glue', can you use raw egg white to stick sugar paste models together?

What other options are there for sticking models together???

thanks

You can make your own sugar glue, just dissolve a little sugar paste, or gumpaste in some boiled water , and it let it sit over night, Walla , glue XD

I often just use a tiny dab of water when sticking sugar paste to cakes (sugarpaste on sugarpaste)
but im not sure how strong it would be to hold up a model

i think, egg white was the traditional 'glue', but with health and saftey these days, you never know!! although, if the models are not going to be ate, then i think you would be ok to use it untill you can buy/make more glue!

Why not try the pasteurized egg whites that they sell in the super market. Or the dried powder form.

If any of the surfaces are still fresh (not yet completely dried) you can just use water as it dissolves a little of each surface, making its own glue. If both surfaces are bone dry, you'll be better off with any of the following:

-Pasteurized egg white.
-Dissolve meringue powder in an equal part of water.
-Dissolve/mash a small ball of gumpaste in water.
-Dissolve Tylose or gumtex powder in an equal part of water.

When I dissolve I use room temp water and use immediately. No waiting overnight.
