I'm planning to make a the orange dreamsicle cake tomorrow but I don't know what to use for a filling. Any suggestions?
This is the filling I use for my dreamsicle cake. I don't really care for it but I've made it a few time in cake and cupcakes and everyone else loves it so I'll let you be the judge if you decide to make it.
2 regular boxes instant vanilla pudding
1/2 cup water
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
orange food coloring
1 teaspoon orange extract
2 cups Cool Whip
Combine pudding, water, condensed milk and extract. Add food color to desired shade. Fold in Cool Whip. Refrigerate 30 mins. Spread between layers. I keep the cake refrigerated but it can sit out at room temperature for the duration of a party or gathering.
