I have an order for a graduation cake and they want me to make a cake shped like a book covered in fondant with a fondant penguin on top since the graduate LOVES penguins. I was thinking of using a 1/2 sheet pan to carve the cake. They want marble cake with chocolate mousse filling to serve 50 people. How much do you think would be a price for this cake. I am still struggling with thinking about the right price for the cakes that I do. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I once saw that some one never charges less than 75 for a carved cake and that was just the base. I have a price/serving chart I can email you if you are interested.

For something like you are describing for 50 servings I would charge no less then $340.00, more depending on the size and detail of the penguin.
