Canning - The process of preparing food in air-tight jars. i.e. jams/jellies, fruits, veggies, meats
Caning - 1. to beat with a cane
2. to weave or furnish with cane <cane the seat of a chair

Does that help?

Do you mean caning or making a cane, as in clay work? I have a feeling you might have seen the miniature cakes and fruits that are made from clay canes and might want to try it with fondant or gumpaste. I did myself once but can attest, I stunk at it!

If its clay canes you're wondering about, check the links. First link is photos of miniature fruits made of clay canes. No instructions though, they are for sale.
The rest of the links have how to do instructions.
