I have a baseball field cake to do in the diamond shape for 30 people. Would you do a round cake & cut 2 sides straight or a square cake & round 1 side? Thanks a bunch icon_wink.gif

Why not do a square, and turn it on it's point like a diamond?

I think the OP wants to to look like the whole playing field, rather than just the bases, hence the rounded outfield.

I think either option is fine. If you are using a square, use a circle tin to help carve the round bit, and do the opposite if using a circle.

I did this and used a 10" round and just cut two pieces to make the diamond shape. It was super easy. After cutting the first piece, I laid that on the other side and used it as my guide to make sure both side were even.
