While watching amazing cakes I think I saw that guy who works with the cake girls cut the fondant at the corners. Anyone one else notice this? Anyone do this? My corners are never as sharp as I want. Maybe this is the solution?

Yes, I have cut them before that way and it works nicely. so much easier to smooth and make a sharper corner.

I saw them do that too, and peered at it as closely as i could afterwards to see if you could tell. You could, but it looked neat.

I saw that but you would have a seam at your corners which I wouldn't like unless you cover it with some kind of accent. SugarShacks DVD Flawless Fondant gives some great techniques for getting sharper corners. Also people who use ganache under the fondant instead of buttercream tend to get sharper corners as well.
