Does anyone know how long fondant on a cake dummy will last ? I want to start on this and putter around with it as I'm feeling like doing it... It is for the cake competition at the county fair in Sept........ I know it will get really hard, and I don't care about that, but will it get TO hard, and crack and fall off ?

I've had dummy cakes covered in fondant for years. Honestly. Some colors may fade in direct sunlight or under florescent lights, so just keep it in a box or a dark room when you aren't working with it. Keeping it in a box would also help keep it from getting dusty.
