I am very new at this so sorry if my questions are basic but could somebody help me with the following;
when rolling out the fondant for covering a cake I heard that you can use icing sugar or veg shortening to stop it sticking, which would be best for me to use as a novice? Thanks in advance x

I used shortening...it helps keep it to where it won't dry out. & keeps the fondant from sticking. I know use "The Mat" once it is used a couple of times you won't need the shortening

Here's where you can find more info on "The Mat"
