Why Is My Buttercream Bubbling?
Decorating By MuffinTop2009 Updated 16 May 2011 , 8:26pm by TexasSugar
What am I doing wrong? After icing a cake with buttercream, decorating...and cooling in fridge - then when it comes back to room temp, the buttercream pulls away from the cake. Thanks!!
I've had the same thing happen to me before and it just baffles me! I've thought maybe it's because the sides of the cake were too "crummy" and the icing just didn't adhere to the cake well. I'm interested on finding out too!
I don't think anyone has ever figured out a complete answer to this question, because there are so many different variables that it has happened in.
Did you let your cakes settle any before you iced them?
