Hi all,
I have a PSP cake tomorrow, I want to try my hands on steaming the fondant so it comes out vibrant and shiny. So couple of questions:
1. Does the fondant dry after steaming? how long does it take? It doenst stay sticky or gluey though?

2. Can i write on a steamed cake after it dries? or should i write before steaming? i want to write message on the screen.

Quick replies will be helpful.
TIA
Nadia

Yes, it will dry, but it can take a couple of hours - also depends on humidity in your area. You can try a fan to make it dry faster. I live in a very dry area and it only takes an hour or so....
You should wait until it dries to write on it or the writing will melt/warp.

Nadia, I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing your question, but i was wondering what kind of steamer to use? I'd like to buy one, but have no clue where to start.
Thanks!

I just bought a cheap one at walmart and it works just fine on my clothes and cakes!
