If I don't have brandy what other kind of liquor will do? I have rum/vodka/orange liquor. The cake is a nice yellowicon_smile.gif with no added flavouricon_smile.gif any suggestions? thanks ladies

It sounds like you are making Cake Love's yellow cake. If so, don't leave out the brandy. In fact, I use cognac... Hennessy. Cognac is aged brandy. The finer cognacs taste a little sweeter and are great for desserts. If you don't want to buy a bottle, get a mini. You can sub the rum or orange liqueur, but it will not be the same cake. I also put Makers Mark Bourbon in my yellow cakes. I only use top shelf spirits and liqueurs. It makes a big difference.

That little bit of alcohol make that my personal favorite cake. I hope you like it too.
