Hi Everyone. Hoping someone can please help me with some ideas for a birthday cake for an accountant. Its a half sheet cake made out of buttercream. They are paying for a fairly basic cake so I don't want to get into fondant decorations.

Thanks for all the ideas! icon_biggrin.gif

You can make the cake look like a giant calculator, or even the cake look like a desk with a calculator and paper with numbers on it, on the "desk"....
Or to be simple, you can just pipe a calculator, some different mathematical equations, maybe a "balance sheet" look... etc...

A "spreadsheet" look was the first thing I thought of...something like this:

There are lots of nice adding machine/calculator cakes in the gallery but they are more complicated than you want. Maybe you could put an actual calculator on top of the cake (dollar store type), and pipe a birthday message with some sort of appropriate pun about counting the years, adding up the grey hairs, or "can't account for" how young you look, something like that?
