I need to make a fondant german chocolate cake and I need to know how I can go about doing it. I don't know if fondant will go with german chocolate but thats my bf favorite cake so I need help

I made a fondant covered german chocolate cake and it was fine. I just filled it with the coconut/pecan filling and iced it with chocolate ganache before covering with fondant. I used MMF and it tasted fine. A lot of people just peel the fondant off and dont eat it anyway, so if he doesnt like the fondant, he can just take it off.
