Does A 2 Tier Get Cut All Assembled Or Taken Apart Then Cut?

i have an 8 and a 6 inch double layer. do i cut the cake with it still assembled or do i remove the top layer then cut it?

It's easier to take the cake apart to cut the cake into pieces.

I'd remove the top tier to be able to get to the lower tier to cut and serve it first because if there's going to be any leftover cake, it's always easier to deal with the smaller tier for transporting, boxing, and storage.

That is brilliant! I usually leave it assembled and only cut through the top tier first. Your way makes MUCH more sense! LOL icon_smile.gif
