I wasn't sure where to post this and I know this is a little bit naive, but is there a difference in butter and sweet cream butter?
I bought butter at Wal-Mart (GV brand) and it was unsalted sweet cream and my sister bought some this weekend but she bought a different brand and it just said unsalted butter. My buttercream I just made has a weird taste, and its not the first time I thought it had an after-taste. My sister's didn't have this after taste so now I'm wondering if I'm buying the wrong kind.
Does anyone know?

I have had the same problem with that brand... Anytime I bake with it, it has a weird aftertaste! Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!
