Hi Everyone!

I am looking to make a cake consisting of an amplifier with a guitar leaning against it. The amp is a half stack design (think of a square with a rectangle sitting on top of it). I have seen some designs with the guitar made of gumpaste or with the body made of cake and the neck of the guitar made of foam or wood.

It will be fairly large (24 inches square for the amp and guitar close to life size) and I am wondering if anyone has an idea for the internal structure of the amp to be able to support the guitar. I was thinking of building a wooden box (upright) and just filling it with the cake and covering with fondant, then I do not have to worry about the cake shifting or getting dented from the weight of the guitar.

I am just not sure if this is overkill or not... if any one has made a guitar if you could let me know the best way to save some weight.

Thanks for your help and I will post pics when it is complete!
