Hi I've made a butter cream cake with strawberry filling for a birthday and have made fondant/gum paste daises and bees to decorate it with. The bees were just made the daises were made about 2 months ago (left over from a previous cake) Because of the strawberry filing it needs to be refrigerated. Can I put the decorations on it and leave in the fridge or should I put them on when I'm ready to display and have the cake?

I put all my cakes in the fridge - all fondant/accents/etc...

Thank you, I finished it and it's in the fridge. Will be so much easier in the morning.

Thank You dukeswalker. I completed the cake and refrigerated until it was time to eat and all went well. Decorations were fine and I was able to keep the strawberry filling cold. icon_biggrin.gif

Was it a homemade filling?

Because I live in Texas and we have horrible humidity I avoid putting cakes in the fridge. If I had to, I would personally probably wait until the cake came out of the fridge and was up to room temp before adding the decorations.

Glad everything worked out well for you.
