Does anyone have a go to moist flavorful scratch lemon cake recipe? I'm not seeing too many lemon cakes with high ratings on cc. Thanks for the help.
I usually make a lemon drizzle cake but instead of lemon zest(I hate the stuff) I put lemon oil into the mix.
Tastes great and made even better with lemon curd inside and lemon icing on top
I've been using Sylvia Weinstock's classic yellow cake recipe as the base for my lemon cake:
I add 1/2 tsp natural lemon extract and the zest of 1 or 2 lemons. I'm actually making this for a wedding next month--the bride swore she hated lemon cake until she tasted this!

I use Toba Garrett's recipe from "The Well Decorated Cake." I find it nice and moist, and with enough lemon flavor.
