I am doing a wedding cake in May. The bride has supplied rhinestone ribbon, its about 1 wide and is solid rhinestones and its little heavy. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas for the best way to attach this to the bottom of each layer of the cake. It is a square cake, five tiers. TIA

I just did a large cake for a 60th birthday party last weekend and I had covered the cake with fondant. All I did was use gum paste glue and it held it perfectly. As I applied the glue to the cake I held the jeweled ribbon in place for a short time and it was fine. If you are using buttercream it should stick right to it. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Thanks, yes, I am using buttercream, I forgot to mention that. I was really concerned about the weight of the ribbon, also.

I use a couple of sanitized T pins.

Leah, how did you use the pins? Just stick them into the cake? or the cake board? Thanks for your help.

Just stick 'em through the rhinestone banding and into the cake.
