I am using cream cheese icing today for the first time. I have iced both tiers for a birthday cake and have them in the refrigerator. I want to decorate them with fondant decorations (bow, strips on the first tier and flowers, etc. on the second tier). Do I need to let the cakes come to room temperature before decorating them tomorrow? Does cream cheese frosting require refrigeration? Is it okay to decorate and then return them to the refrigerator? Also, in researching this topic I saw someone on another site who said they wouldn't decorate with fondant on cream cheese due to it being soft and the decorations could fall of. Now I'm worried. Any tips would be appreciated. The cake is for a friend tomorrow.
