Cottage Food Law not moving!!! House Bill 1483 & SB 0137 have hit a snag, it is now time for home-based bakers and home food processors to make some noise!!! The Cottage Food Law bill is not moving forward...get in contact with your legislators and let's get this to the Governor's desk!

I've contacted my reps to help get this passed. It's a pathetic bill but better than nothing.

When contacting your rep what is the right thing to say or ask?

Simple is best. Use the bill's number and state your support for it. I said something like, " I am requesting your support for HB 1483 which would allow cottage food producers to sell limited amounts of non-potentially hazardous items at farmer's markets and bake sales without interference from local health department officials. The bill would help families supplement their incomes and would help nonprofits raise funds for worthy causes."
