I was asked to make a pool table for a grooms cake. I would love any pointers or ideas anyone would be willing to share! I am planning on doing the whole cake in buttercream. I was wondeing if anyone had any ideas on how I could give it the real wood look. Also what about the legs. At first i was just planning on making a sheet cake look like the top of a pool table and I was looking at some examples of fellow ccers and I would love to attach some real wood for legs. Any suggestions!? TIA!!!

Use a plywood cakeboard and you can easily screw wooden legs on.

Here's a pool table cake as you described:

Do you just use regular plywood? Available at Lowes?
