Does anyone have any good ideas for making a mold for a champagne sugar bottle? All of the silicone molds I have found are over $100 which is way beyond my budget! Someone please help if you can! Thanks!
have you tried the 'make your own mold' sight, it's on the home page of cc, it shows a beer bottle, but you can make just about any bottle you want. the stuff is expensive, but it might be cheaper than buying the mold you found? just an idea, if I see anything I'll let ya know, good luck!
Yes I watched all of the videos on how to make the sugar beer bottles and it looked amazing! So I checked out the website and the mold I want is $150! I couldn't believe it was that much so I've tried searching online at places such as amazon for something cheaper with no luck! But thank you! And thanks for the lookout! Maybe I will have to save up a little and then purchase the mold set. The cake order I have isn't until October...just wanted to get a head start! Thanks so much!!
Hi, i used mold builder from hobby lobby $12.99 to make my beer bottles you could use that. i followed the step by step instructions under forums-how i made my beer bottles, good luck
I made a beer bottle mold the same way, but I did not use it, because the mold builder is not food safe, you can still use it but your customers, cannot eat the sugar bottle because it is latex.
I ended up saving for months, and finally bought the materials from make your own molds because it is food safe, which I perfer.
Just letting you know the difference between the two.
Choc molds are a lot cheaper
I made half a champagne bottle in it's crate with that. First paint a thick layer of choc in it, let it firm up, then filled it with truffle mass, gave it a quick freeze in the ice chest and unmolded it onto a bottle shaped foamcore board. The choc gave me a nice surface for the fondant, Some airbrush work and edible label et voila, people loved it. Used choc cake mixed with ganache, choc, sour cherry jam and Kirschwasser, tasted like a Schwarzwaelderkirsch truffle

Do you think I could do a 3D bottle like this and just stick the two sides together so I could make it in a bucket? Also what colors did you use to air brush this so well. It truely looks like glass in the pictures. Tastes much better than sugar bottle too!!!
