Any suggestions for creating a cake that will hold up in heat? The cake will be under a park shelter. The bride would prefer buttercream, but will take fondant if she must.

Thanks Marla

Indydedbi, I can't get powdered dream whip where I live - can I substitute it with anything?

dream whip is a powdered whipped topping. the brand doesn't matter (although I've not used anything else). It can be ordered thru amazon.com.

Thanks, I just checked amazon but they don't ship perishables overseas (I'm in France), plus, the shipping would be too expensive anyway. Can I use whip cream?

I'm not sure .... the dream whip is added in its powdered form.

You might give Sugarshack's recipe a try. Many many Cc'ers use that with excellent crusting results.
